HOW TODAY'S EDUCATION SYSTEM HAS FAILED
How today's education system has failed the young people and what needs to be done:
Education system has failed to deliver what need to be delivered to the young minds. Emphasis are laid on less important issues leaving behind the core things that need to be focus on.The current education system was conceived, designed and structured for a different age. It was conceived in the intellectual structure of the enlightenment and the economic circumstances of the industrial revolution in the nineteenth century. Before the middle of the 19th century there where no system of public education.
The Industrial Revolution was the transition to new manufacturing processes in the period from about 1760 to sometime between 1820 and 1840.
That was the future that the education system they used about 150 - 200 years ago prepared the youths for. Fortunately or unfortunately that era is long gone but the system refused to acknowledge that. Our children are the ones suffering it.
Education system needs revolution as well to move with the advance age trends. That is the classroom that is needed in this 21st century learning.
The central focus shouldn't just be to go to school and graduate with good grades and get a good job. Young ones can also create a job for themselves and others. What has been wrong with the system is the mindset of the educators with is to produce the best students thereby limiting the minds of the younger people.
There are three key elements in achieving success
- Creativity
- Collaboration
- Critical thinking
Creativity; I will say is the art of developing an original idea that has value. Collaboration is sharing ideas and thoughts with colleagues. And critical thinking involves evaluating and idea to discover all the loop hole that has been covered by the optimism.
Todays education system should be centered on this.
